Notes

No, this didn't happen to me -- just someone who means the world to me. 2011 was a rough year.

Barry, Julianna, Larry and Mimi Hills were all there to help me bring Never Saw It Comin' to life Week 2 of PSGW 2011. Mimi's commute was a tad too long for the recording, so Mark stepped in. My utmost thanks to all of them. Everyone should have friends like these!

Lyrics

Somethin' told me not to let you in,
But I swore that it would be fine.
Somethin' told me not to trust in you,
But I never paid it no mind.
We've know each other since way back when.
Seemed like you needed some kind of friend.
I never thought about what the ending might be.

I never thought you could be so cold,
To take what you knew to be mine.
I never dreamed you would stoop so low,
To smile while you were robbin' me blind.
I was the one who scraped you off the floor.
I was the one who kept an open door.
I was the one who ignored what was so plain to see

But NEVER SAW IT COMIN', not a single clue.
NEVER SAW IT COMIN', I was such a fool to believe,
To believe in you.

I could cry and scream and shout,
But that won't bring my old life back.
I could try and wait it out,
But that's not how these cards are stacked.
I see the sorrow in my baby's eyes.
But there's no hint of compromise.
And I realize, that there's no place left for me

And NEVER SAW IT COMIN', not a single clue.
NEVER SAW IT COMIN', I was such a fool to believe,
To believe in you.
